WELCOME TO NALS OF OREGON
SCHOLARSHIP FUND INC.
MEMBERS
Do you sport ALS behind your name to
indicate that you have attained your basic certification? Or, how about
PLS to designate that you attained your professional goal?
Attaining ALS certification demonstrates commitment and aptitude for succeeding in the ever-changing legal environment. ALS certification is geared to the beginner who has completed one of the following: a secretarial course, the NALS Legal Training Course, or one year of secretarial experience (not necessarily legal).
Certified PLS
designation is an attainable goal for legal secretaries and assistants who want
to be identified as exceptional. Any person who has had three years'
experience in the legal field may take the examination. A partial waiver
of the three-year legal experience requirement (up to one year) may be granted
for certain post-secondary degrees, successful completion of the ALS exam, or
attainment of other certifications.
If you are a NALS member, why not start studying for the certification exams! Yes, there is some cost involved, but the NALS of Oregon Scholarship Fund, Inc. is making funds available to assist members with exam fees!
